We truly appreciate the support and enthusiasm of our OGC Camp parents and welcome you to observe your gymnast during training. To ensure the safety, focus, and well being of every athlete, we kindly ask that parents do not coach, instruct, cue, or direct their child while they are participating in camp activities. Gymnastics is a high risk sport that requires trained professionals to teach skills using proper progressions, spotting techniques, and safety protocols. Even well intentioned comments or corrections from the sidelines can distract an athlete, create confusion, or encourage skills to be attempted in an unsafe manner.
For this reason, only OGC staff and credentialed coaches are permitted to provide instruction on the training floor. This policy is strictly enforced and is not intended to limit parental involvement, but rather to protect all athletes and allow coaches to maintain a controlled and safe training environment. If a parent continues to coach or interfere during sessions after being reminded of this policy, they may be asked to leave the premises.
